Logistics

ARRIVE: no earlier than _____ on deck please (SAIT rules) - but remember it takes time to park, unload, sign the waiver, pay $15 cash to AUC volunteer, set-up gear on deck, get changed in bathing suit/wet suit & socialize

PAY AUC VOLUNTEER: $15 drop-in fee in cash per person to the AUC volunteer on the pool deck & sign waiver

MUST SHOW your C-Card & must sign the AUC Waiver - no exceptions!

TIME: Life Guards allow the divers to access into the SAIT Pool only at 8:30 pm sharp and must be out at 10:30 pm on the dot. Divers must pack-up & leave soon thereafter as pool is often closing & lifeguards need to lock-up.

MUST BE AUC Member, so please remember to renew (however, please note that no one is turned away). IF NEW - your first 6 months membership with the AUC is FREE & is activated when you sign the AUC Waiver! Not sure of your member status - contact us by email, phone, or the contact form below. Or RENEW via PayPal or just send an e-transfer ($20 pp) via your online banking to: info@albertaunderwatercouncil.com But remember - no one is turned away at the door!!

GEAR: Please remember, you must bring all your own scuba gear, tanks, weights & your C-Card (Scuba Certification Card) as well. Contact your local favourite dive centre (in advance) for any and all of your scuba gear rentals (tanks, weights, bcd, regs, plus 3mm wetsuit recommended) as you must bring it all to SAIT. Change rooms & lockers are available and/or bring own lock.

UNLOADING/LOADING: Park & haul gear in thru main doors

PARKING: only where indicated (do not leave vehicle in emergency lanes or you'll be ticketed & towed). Advise front desk/life guard that you're with the AUC scuba pool rental & they will let you in.
Note: Must be certified diver, as Scuba Instructors are not available during these pool rental times at SAIT. Helpful hints from other friendly divers present is the most you can expect. Take a full scuba refresher from your favourite local instructor or dive centre - your life is more than worth it - just ask your family & friends!
SOCIALIZE: Want to meet local scuba divers?? Visit with Underwater Outlaw Club's members & join their club event opportunities to socialize.

Dates don't work for you? Contact your local dive shop or dive club for available pool times for practice! If it's been a while, be sure to contact them about doing a full Scuba Refresher with an instructor before getting your feet wet.

Calgary Area:
Contact your local favourite dives shop in Calgary for available dates & times, such as Adventures in Scuba and The Dive Shop have their own scuba pools on-site or or Calgary Scuba typically offers additional dates & times at SAIT. Aqua Dive & Watersports in Airdrie might have times available there. All offer a wide variety of dates and times, courses, refreshers, etc. PLUS: if successful more Tuesdays at SAIT Pool can possibly be added later.
