Over these many years - you've worked very hard:

-for your dive club - the Wing Divers - as an excellent instructor, a master builder, both above & below the surface, a trip leader and/or event leader, and most importantly as a mentor to many up & coming divers, club members & board members.GordTonyJaspersm

-for the Alberta Underwater Council (AUC) serving on the board for many years in many capacities - as a director, vice-president & even as treasurer, plus as dive event leader at many Jasper Aquathon's & other AUC events!

-for the Underwater Archeology Society of Alberta as leader for projects such as the Oldman River Dam study, & the Habukkuk plaque in Jasper among many others.

Gordon Ross:
Position on Board: Vice President Since 2005
AUC Member since 1968 - served on various Council positions for the past 20 years.
Club Member: Wing Diver Club since 1968, currently Vice President of club.
Scuba Certification Level: Master Instructor
Some of the places I’ve been: Dived in Belize, Mexico, Bahamas, Florida, Galapagos Islands, Vancouver Island Area
My Favorite dive place & where:
Warm Water: Belize
Cold Water: North End Vancouver Island
Upcoming Trip Plans:Australia’s Great Barrier Reef
I started diving in 1968 when there were many large scuba clubs in the province, and I enjoyed the social and friendship aspects of local diving with the clubs.  I believe that diving is not just a warm  water sport, and all divers should experience the diving that Alberta has to offer.  Helping with the AUC is one of the ways to promote diving locally.
Additionally I have had a wide variety of diving experiences starting in 1968 when I took my training with the Wing Divers Club.  I started instructing diving for the Wing Divers in 1975 for about 20 years.    I have even been able to do a limited amount of commercial diving and search and recovery diving.  But mostly I have enjoyed the many dive trips out to Vancouver Island.

This new sign made & presented to Gord/Linda Ross by fellow Alberta dive buddy: Mike Hussey.  It will grace the new digs in Sooke, BC.  It is hoped that this will remind Gord that he has to get out and dive often!
